President Trump Welcomes Families of Shot Guard Members to the Presidential Residence
Former President Trump announced on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a National Guard member killed last week to visit the White House.

Background on the Heartbreaking Event
US army specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a violent incident on last Wednesday in Washington DC.
Her fellow service member, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in grave state.
Gatherings across the state have been held in their remembrance.
White House Invitation
The president explained heâs talked about a meeting at the presidential residence for the parents of both members of the West Virginia Guard.
âI stated: âWhen youâre prepared, because thatâs a hard experience, visit the White House. Weâre going to recognize Sarah,â the president informed journalists. âAnd likewise with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.â
Community Response
Attendees assembled over the weekend at a local school in West Virginia to remember Beckstrom.
Both the soldiers had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trumpâs federal initiative to assist law enforcement in Washington DC.
Remembering Sarah Beckstrom
âShe was the type of pupil that teachers desired. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that inspired those around her,â the principal, the principal of Beckstromâs previous school, stated to the Associated Press. âShe was kind, considerate and always eager to help others.â
Memorial arrangements for Sarah are yet to be finalized.
Judicial Measures and Government Revisions
Authorities have charged a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of first-degree murder and charges of violent assault while carrying a weapon.
The tragedy caused the administration to suspend refugee claims and halt issuing entry permits to possessors of travel documents.
Status of Andrew Wolfe
Andrew Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the AP.
He is still undergoing care and is âfighting for his lifeâ, the stateâs governor Morrisey said on television.
Attorney general Bondi informed the program that she aimed to meet with Wolfeâs family.
Impact of the Fallen Soldier
Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a law enforcement officer with distinction, per the military.
âShe had a lot of goodness and she certainly had fortitude,â he informed the gathering at the vigil. âThough her time was cut short, she has created a legacy thatâs going to endure.â
