Renowned Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Dies at Age 60.
Stateside actor Finn, who featured in popular programs like "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California on Monday after undergoing cancer treatment since 2022, per reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - only friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives stated in a statement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
A Prolific Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He also had a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a social organizer famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous well-known programs, such as:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His film credits are It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored many learners throughout the years and it would be difficult to find a person who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, fellow actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote online.
The actor is survived by his spouse Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
